Freedom Ministry at GCF West exists to help people experience real change and lasting freedom through Jesus Christ. Many believers carry unseen burdens; patterns they can’t break, wounds from the past, or questions about who they truly are in Christ. Freedom Ministry offers a safe, caring environment where people can encounter God’s truth, receive healing, and begin walking in the fullness of life Jesus promised. At its heart, Freedom Ministry reflects GCF West’s mission of “Transformed Lives for Christ.”

Freedom Ministry is expressed through several complementary pathways, including Steps to Freedom in Christ, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM), and Watchmen. Each pathway meets people where they are and addresses spiritual, emotional, and relational areas of life. Whether someone is new to faith or has followed Jesus for many years, Freedom Ministry is for anyone who desires deeper healing, renewed hope, and a closer, more authentic walk with Christ.

Steps to Freedom in Christ

Jesus said, “…I have come that they may have life,  and have it to the full” (John 10:10).  Steps to Freedom is a biblical framework designed to help individuals break free from the chains of spiritual bondage and embrace a life of freedom in Christ.  Every Christian, no matter how long you’ve been walking with the Lord, will benefit from walking through steps, in which we confront personal sins, deceptive thoughts, and past traumas, enabling Christians to claim their full identity in Jesus.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Jesus told his disciples: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:4-5)

The Bible clearly teaches about two baptisms, and Jesus specifically told his disciples they needed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to walk out everything they were called to do.  Every Christian needs to receive the same power that Jesus instructed his disciples to wait for, so they can walk out their calling in Him. 

Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM)

TPM is a biblical prayer approach aimed at emotional healing and spiritual renewal by identifying and addressing the root causes of emotional pain and distress through a guided prayer session.  Through prayer and seeking truth directly from the Lord, participants experience spiritual insights that lead to emotional liberation and a deeper, transformative relationship with God.

Watchmen (Men’s Group)

Watchmen is a men’s discipleship and freedom group centered on hope, honesty, and transformation through Jesus Christ. The only requirement for participation is a desire to find freedom from bondage. Watchmen provides a safe, confidential space where men walk together in truth, encouragement, and accountability as they pursue healing and spiritual growth.
